Lean Competency System (LCS) and Repair Cafe Wales have announced their partnership to support sustainability and circular economy in Cardiff.
The partnership shows a local company’s commitment to supporting a local repair cafe, and recognises the value that repair cafes bring to their communities. Repair cafes are pop up community events held every month, managed by volunteer organisers and fixers. Held on regular dates, the local community can get their broken household items repaired for free by volunteers over a cup of tea or coffee; they’re a warm space to have a chat, save some money and reduce waste by keeping household items in use longer.
“We’re really proud to support Repair Cafe Wales and the Repair Cafe in Cathays, near to our office in Cardiff University,” says Chris Dando, Group CEO of Lean Competency System.
“Benefits of this partnership include opportunities for our staff to volunteer, and a tangible way to show our customers that together we are addressing the ever-growing emergency of unsustainable growth in landfill and waste.”
Phoebe Brown, Director of Repair Cafe Wales said:
“We are thrilled to join forces with Lean Competency System,”
“This partnership is a natural progression of our shared vision to support a more sustainable and circular Wales. Minimising waste, reducing carbon emissions by repairing and reusing are central to the circular economy and our ethos.”
