Celtic Sea is the Catalyst to a Golden Era for the Milford Haven Waterway

The Port of Milford Haven is the UK’s largest energy port and a strategic asset in the nations ambition to achieve NetZero targets.

Handling over 30 million tonnes of cargo annually, the port also provides a range of expert solutions in marine operations, cargo handling, shipping layover, marine renewables, freight and passenger ferry services, fisheries, commercial property management, leisure, and retail.

Central to the success of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea, the ports immediate objective is to establish the Milford Haven waterway as a green energy port, supporting the vision to harness green power from floating offshore wind into the Celtic Sea.

In this exclusive interview, Green Economy Wales editor Mark Powney, spoke with the Port of Milford Haven’s CEO, Tom Sawyer, about the investment required into the port to maximise the opportunity in the Celtic Sea.

Tom also shares his views on the opportunities FLOW will bring to the wider community, the development of a hydrogen economy and the challenges the sector is facing around CFD, the grid and consent.
