Ledwood Granted Fit For Hydrogen and CCUS Status

Pembroke Dock-based Ledwood Mechanical Engineering has been granted Fit for Hydrogen (F4H2) and Carbon Capture Usage and Storage (CCUS) status.

Delivered by the Nuclear AMRC, part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, the Fit For Hydrogen and CCUS (F4H2+CCUS) programme is funded through the Zero Carbon Humber Partnership, a major collaboration to clean up the UK’s most carbon-intensive industrial cluster, with support from the UK government’s Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.

F4H2 and CCUS status is recognition by the Nuclear AMRC that Ledwood has completed a journey of business improvement and sector-specific learning, and is considered capable of supplying the hydrogen and CCUS sectors. The certificate is valid for up to three years.

The programme is based on the proven Fit For Nuclear model of sector-focused supplier development. It allows companies to measure their operations against the standards required to supply these fast-growing sectors and take the necessary steps to close any gaps.

Mark Davies is Head of Development for Ledwood. He said:

“Both hydrogen and carbon capture, utilisation and storage are an important part of the technology portfolio for meeting net zero ambitions.

“Having already achieved Fit for Nuclear, F4H2 and CCUS status will now help us to prepare new opportunities in these emerging sectors along with the F4OR programme that we have begun with ORE Catapult and Floventis Energy to develop our understanding of the floating offshore wind market.”

Ledwood is an independent engineering, fabrication and construction company specialising in the delivery of complex projects in the process and energy sectors.
