Believ to Showcase Data Mapping Tool at Parking and Transport Wales 2024

An Electric Vehicle (EV) charge point operator (CPO) will be exhibiting at the Parking and Transport Wales Annual Conference, organised by British Parking Association (BPA).

Believ will be showcasing its data mapping tool that informs on EV charging infrastructure demand in the country.

In collaboration with Loughborough University, Believ has developed the proprietary data mapping tool that accurately forecasts EV charging infrastructure demand to within a 400m2 area. The tool leverages extensive datasets, including socio-economic demographics, consumer profiling, EV adoption rates, car ownership levels, off-street parking availability, resident requests, and existing infrastructure.

By utilising this tool, Believ can predict more precisely where infrastructure is required compared to traditional models, which are typically limited to broader Lower Layer Super Output Area (LSOA) levels.

This advanced predictive capability establishes a foundational understanding of residential charging needs, which is critical is to installing the right solution for the right location.

David Bagwell, Senior Public Partnership Manager at Believ, and James Gibbons, Public Sector Partnerships Manager at Believ, will be attending the event which includes panel-led discussions on the deployment, management, and enforcement of EV charging. These discussions aim to dispel common EV myths, and foster engagement with government representatives.

“We’re excited to be at the conference, which we will use as a platform to demonstrate how the mapping tool will help Welsh local authorities predict EV infrastructure demand. Our attendance is important for addressing any concerns or questions related to EV infrastructure, and how we can support rollouts,” David said.

“As panel members of the BPA EV Connect Group, we are also looking forward to discussing the National Parking Platform and how we can support the ‘ultra-low emission vehicle transformation fund’. We will be showcasing how our comprehensive suite of EV solutions enables us to design future proofed EV charging infrastructure deployment for any and all location types.”

The BPA Parking and Transport Wales Annual Conference is being held on 9th October at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea. Believ will be at Stand 13.
