Cardiff-Based Energy Management Consultancy Announces 88% Growth in Four Years

Leading energy consultancy, Amber, has announced significant growth as it plans to steps up efforts to becoming the UK’s number one energy management consultancy.

The company has nearly doubled its growth in the last four years – growing by 88% – and has invested in 25% more staff this year who will support the company’s growing digital efforts in 2025 and beyond.

Amber currently works with clients in the retail, hospitality, and housing sector to manage their energy needs and adopt sustainable solutions, helping them save an average of 128% in energy costs against the market average and drive their journey to Net Zero.

As businesses evolve and require more complex energy management across multiple platforms, Amber is stepping up its investment in AI and machine learning to drive further cost efficiencies for its customers – and has increased capacity by 40% this year to be able to support these efforts at scale. The enhanced digital offering will place Amber in a prime position to offer more advanced consultancy for businesses at a multi-site level, who require more granular detail.

The investment will also put them ahead of major industry changes coming into play next year with the introduction Market wide Half Hourly Settlements – a new nationwide initiative that will give a more accurate picture of energy use and encourage businesses to use it more flexibility to save money and carbon.

As the UK’s number one independent third party intermediary (TPI), Amber also improved its B Impact score this year from 88.4 to 100.5 – a major industry achievement as one of the first energy consultancies to qualify.

The exciting new phase for the consultancy will be bolstered further next year with the hire of a new Chief Operating Officer (COO), which the business is currently recruiting for.

The COO will lead Amber’s 180 strong team to build on its current success and oversee the execution of Amber’s current portfolio of services – allowing more time for CEO Nick Proctor to further grow the business and drive the company’s leading market position.

Speaking of its next stage of success, Founder and CEO, Nick Proctor, said:

“With an even greater need to reduce costs and carbon, we need to enable our team and customers to make even more impactful data driven decisions, and we believe the latest technological advancements will allow us to do that. Ultimately, this will provide greater assurance to our customers and allow them to further invest in their journey to Net Zero.

“That’s why we’re also excited to announce a new role of Chief Operating Officer ahead of next year. As Amber continues to grow, we need a dynamic COO to oversee the day-to-day operations, optimise organisational processes and ensure seamless execution of projects and services. By driving continuous improvement, they’ll play a vital role in saving our customers time, money, and carbon.”
