Creating a Sustainable Balance Between Community Wellbeing and Good Economic Health

Welcome to the first edition of a new Sustainable tourism launched in tandem with Wales Tourism Week.

There's no doubt that tourism in Wales has really had to fight its corner in recent years.  Hard hit during the pandemic and facing a host of challenging policies from both governments, the industry has had to channel its “Yma O Hyd” spirit more than ever.  So – yes – we promote all that is positive and successful about tourism here in our Wales Tourism Week celebrations.

From May 15th, tourism businesses across Wales invite their local politicians and influencers to their sites, showcasing the quality of our tourism offer to both UK domestic and international tourists. It gives our politicians the chance to demonstrate support for tourism in their constituency, to better understand its contribution to Welsh life – and how they can help achieve a sustainable balance between community wellbeing and good economic health.

The annual reception in the Senedd brings together our businesses and policymakers from across the political spectrum, giving an insight into promotional activity, skills development as well as the opportunity for some face-to-face conversations.

More info here.  Come and join us and celebrate the Wellbeing Industry!
