Lyte Ladders Introduces Green Aluminium to Strengthen Carbon Reduction Goals

The UK’s leading manufacturer of ladders and access equipment has integrated Recycled Low-Carbon Aluminium 4.0 into the rungs of all its ladders.

Swansea-based Lyte Ladders said the innovative material significantly reduces the carbon footprint of its products and supports its Carbon Reduction Plan, which aims to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Recycled Low-Carbon Aluminium 4.0 boasts one of the lowest carbon footprints in the industry — just 4.0 kg CO2e per kg of aluminium — and is produced using a combination of recycled materials and renewable energy sources. By incorporating this sustainable aluminium into critical components of its products, Lyte Ladders says it is leading the way in green manufacturing without compromising on the durability and quality that customers expect.

The material will be used in the rungs of ladders, allowing Lyte Ladders to reduce the environmental impact of these key components by up to 75% compared to traditional aluminium.

“We’re thrilled to take this important step toward a greener future by integrating Recycled Low-Carbon Aluminium 4.0 into our ladders,” said Stuart Price, Managing Director at Lyte Ladders. “This material helps us significantly lower our carbon emissions while continuing to offer the same high-quality, durable products that our customers trust. It’s a win for sustainability, our customers, and the environment.”

The company has also installed a 350kW solar power system at its manufacturing facility in Swansea, generating clean energy and further reducing emissions. Additionally, Lyte has introduced electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for employees and visitors, promoting the use of green transportation.

“Our focus is on building a sustainable future for our industry and our customers,” added Stuart. “By continuously innovating and adopting eco-friendly practices, we’re not only lowering our environmental impact but also empowering our customers to make greener choices.”
