Welsh B Corps Take Their Place at Wales Week London

To mark Wales Week London, Millrace Marketing in partnership with B Lab UK and B Local Wales, are hosting the first ‘B Corporations’ of Wales Showcase event.

The event poses an opportunity for organisations to meet a panel of founders to hear more about what it means to become a conscious and sustainable business in Wales. There will also be the opportunity to sample the finest Welsh B Corp produce.

The selected team of panellists include Laura Aherne, Director of Millrace Marketing and CIM Wales Board Member, Karina Sudenyte, Co-founder and CMO at Flawsome and Co-chair of B Local Wales, Nick Miller, Director at Miller Research and Josh Clarke, Director of Operation at Coaltown Coffee.

Panellist and Director of Millrace Marketing, Laura Aherne, commented:

“This is the first formal event where Welsh B Corps will have a significant presence in London, and Millrace is delighted to be hosting the occasion and participating on the panel. Being a B Corp has helped us solidify our people and planet commitments to our market and build towards a better, more sustainable Wales.”

In Wales, the wellbeing of its people and sustainability is illustrated by the country’s ‘Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015’ and B Corp’s Annie Olivier, Head of Growth for B Lab UK comments:

“Growing the B Corp movement in Wales has been a key focus for us at B Lab UK over the past year. With 36 Welsh B Corps now in the community, we're really excited to spotlight what purposeful business looks like in Wales and encourage others to follow suit. The event lands during B Corp Month — a moment to celebrate the impact of B Corps and how they’re moving us forward to a way of business that prioritises people and the planet alongside profit.”

Fellow panellist, Karina Sudenyte, contributed:

“I'm thrilled to witness the growing participation of businesses in this movement, especially those actively engaging to unite the Welsh community and highlight the profound benefits of involvement. Our pursuit of the B Corp certification has significantly enhanced our business. I'm confident the advantages extend to any Welsh brand or service aligning with the B Corp community. I'm excited to be on the panel and share our B Corp journey!
