Net Zero Wales Skills

The NØW Skills project, funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, tackles green skills gaps in private and public manufacturing sectors.

Collaborating with Swansea University, industry experts, and academic institutions, it offers flexible learning, blending online guided learning, in-person instruction, and practical sessions. Participants access various courses, including short, CPD, or credit-bearing micro-credentials, to enhance qualifications and role-specific skills.

This initiative supports Wales's Net Zero 2030 goal, focusing on decarbonisation and skills' pivotal role. It aims to establish a knowledge exchange network for energy and manufacturing sectors, aligning with government investments for economic resilience and Net Zero achievement.

The courses offered by NØW Skills are designed to not only build knowledge and skills but also identify educational and career pathways that will support Wales in meeting its national Net Zero targets.

Courses Include:

  • Introduction to Circular Economy: Explore the principles of the Circular Economy, focusing on efficient and sustainable material use.
  • Introduction to Fossil Free Steelmaking: Discover advancements in carbon-neutral steel production to combat greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Introduction to Electric Vehicles: Understand the transformation of the transportation industry towards carbon-neutral vehicles.
