ACT: Energy & Carbon Management

ACT's Level 3 Diploma in Energy & Carbon Management is a pioneering program that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead the charge in managing energy consumption and carbon emissions within their organisations.

About this course

Our Level 3 Diploma in Energy & Carbon Management, looks at the skills and knowledge required for the management of energy consumption and carbon emissions within an organisation. It also considers sustainability of all resources including water and waste management. This qualification meets the carbon zero agenda in Wales,  it also considers the impact of energy consumption and carbon emissions on the environment, both locally and globally.

Who is it for?

This Apprenticeship qualification is ideal for someone working in an energy management role, or similar, in organisations of all sizes and sectors. It is also appropriate for those working in facilities, finance or any other roles with a responsibility for managing energy and carbon within their own organisation.

What will you study?

Learners will be required to undertake a mixture of mandatory units and optional units. We will work with you to decide what optional units are relevant to your role, and your business.

Mandatory units include:

  • Principles of Energy and Carbon Management
  • Analysis of Energy Consumption and Carbon Emissions
  • Behavioural Change within the Workplace
  • Professional Networking for Energy and Carbon Management
  • Health and Safety in an Energy Management Environment
  • Improving Quality Within Own Area of Work in Carbon and Energy Management
  • Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues

Example optional units include:

  • Energy Procurement
  • Energy and Carbon Project Management
  • Transport Carbon Management
  • Waste Management
  • Community Engagement
  • Spreadsheet Software

How will you be assessed?

This is a work based learning course which will primarily be delivered through 1-to-1 sessions with a member of ACT's delivery team, using a mixture of face-to-face and remote learning sessions.
