New Net Zero Legislation and What Businesses Can Do

With many sectors still facing a multitude of pressures, many business leaders say they feel that decarbonisation isn’t their most pressing concern.

But regulation – and expectations from stakeholders – mean that businesses increasingly need to factor in plans to lower their carbon footprints.

Circular Economy Innovation Communities (CEIC) is a joint project by Cardiff Met University and Swansea University, funded by UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

It helps organisations in the Cardiff Capital and Swansea Bay regions to understand Circular Economy principles, as well as the practical steps they can take to create a more sustainable way of working.

In this digital discussion, Business News Wales editor Gemma Casey spoke to CEIC Director Dr Gary Walpole; Ben Cottam, Head of Wales at the FSB; and Lloyd Powell, Head of ACCA Cymru about why businesses of all sizes need to upskill now in Circular Economy principles, and the benefits involved.

CEIC’s fully funded programme gives organisations knowledge and tools to implement Circular Economy principles. It is recruiting now for autumn 2024. Find out more at https://ceicwales.org.uk/
